Hi, Folks.
A member of the wedding party tested negative for COVID-19 prior to the wedding, and positive following. Ergo, we must assume that there was exposure to the Coronavirus during our time at the farm. So far nobody has developed any symptoms, but:
If at all possible, limit exposure for the next ten days.
Please get tested between now and Thursday, which marks the 5-day exposure window required by some insurance companies.
If you’re comfortable doing so, please reply to our email with the results so we can gauge the spread. We’ll keep an aggregate dashboard for contact tracing purposes, but individual results will be kept in the strictest of confidence.
We’re terribly sorry to have to send this information. So as not to flood your inboxes, updates will be posted to abouttime.wedding/covid, where you can sign up to be emailed/texted as they come in.
Warmest Regards,
Adam and Kelly

How We’re Planning Around COVID
We’re getting married on August 7th one way or another, dagnabbit.
But depending on the state of the pandemic, the ceremony could look very different. So that you can best organize your thoughts, here are ours.

Vaccines are already rolling out
and with luck, everybody who wants one will have access well in advance of the wedding. If masks are still a social norm in August, we’ll ask folks to wear them as well.
When we ask for RSVPs, we will anonymously solicit vaccine statuses so that we can all gauge our various levels of comfort.
The ceremony is outdoors and the reception is in an open-air pavilion, so social distancing isn’t expected to pose a problem… but you might need to hold off the conga line during the reception.
The only communal item is the buffet, and if necessary we will work with the caterers to add extra servers so that no two people touch the same serving devices.
In short, we should be able to pull this off.
But supposing things get worse instead of better, here are the possible outcomes.

Strict Social Distancing
If social distancing regulations remain in effect, then we will pare down the reception and encourage people to leave early. You’ll still get dinner, even if it has to be in shifts - that deposit was massive and we’re not wasting it.
Limited Gatherings
If the size of social gatherings remains limited, then the ceremony and reception will be restricted to a small cadre of family and close friends. We will, however, arrange to broadcast the ceremony over Zoom so that you can still be a part of the magic.
Lockdown
If the governor orders a lockdown, then only the officiant and immediate family will be present in person. We will still broadcast the ceremony over Zoom, though.
